Production bases of Japan Semiconductor

With two fabs in Iwate and Oita Prefectures, Japan Semiconductor is building a framework that allows for parallel production at the two bases (dual-fab framework) in preparation for large-scale disasters and other emergencies.

Measures against large-scale earthquakes

We have already implemented measures against earthquakes to ensure that we can continue stable production without being affected significantly by earthquakes with an intensity up to four (on the Japanese seismic scale). For earthquakes with an intensity of 5-weak or greater, we have established guidelines for employees evacuation safety, as well as a system that automatically cuts off the supply of chemicals and gases and shuts down all the equipment safely as follows. These provisions would make it possible for us to quickly resume production and deliver products to customers even in the event of a major earthquake.
